The idea for this album was ignited by the concept of memory and how to put sound to the aging reels in our head. What kind of soundtrack would play within these faraway places? Born out of this question are four tracks of distant and hazy atmosphere, looping and drifting out into the ether, to the place where memories rest and slowly decay over time. The sounds are intentionally ghostly and out of reach, much like the memories we harbor.

To capture this elusive place, I recorded guitar loops that were performed live, unrehearsed and improvised. This spontaneous approach was inspired by aleatoric music and the idea of leaving things to chance. As the loops played, I added some hardware effects to manipulate them in real time. Most of the loops were captured using a handheld recorder to add a lo-fi flavor. I made a conscious choice to not include any other recognizable instruments. Instead, I used field recordings and minimal sound design to add texture, weight, movement, and a sense of environment.

This album is meant for late nights cuddled in headphones or earbuds, drifting in and out of sleep, between this plane and the next. Or, perhaps a solitary walk at golden hour to get away from your current timeline. I hope you enjoy what you hear.
